- Copyright laws give an author legal protection against having
- his work copied. Among the things that can be protected by
- copyright are: audio recordings, video recordings, photos,
- paintings, drawings, and photographs. The copyright holder has
- the right to distribute, sell, and reproduce his work, as
- well as the right to produce new works based on his original
- work. Sometimes works are denied copyright protection because
- they do not contain any creativity. An example of such would
- be a telephone directory. A work doesn't necessarily have to
- be innovative, but must contain some creativity.
